CHRISTOPHER JONES Style is matter, wrote Martin Amis quoting Nabakov; and style is where my interests lay. Not in the way a thing or event merely looks, but the way it actively is. The way it lives, as its own essential being; the way it comes and goes and moves; the way it ways, as Heidegger might have wrote. These interests have been characterized over the years through my attraction to writing and photography; both grounded by an attraction to the thoughtful aspects of phenomenology. Together, these interests, the way they intertwine with me, the essence of themselves, and the ground from where they originate, come together as Christopher Jones style arrangements of coming-going energies, highlighted by my work in Distillation 2. |
